As you may have noticed, I stopped posting new Languard locations just before Christmas. Fear not, progress has not ground to a halt…in fact, if anything I’ve ramped up the pace.
Just yesterday, I completed my final full draft of the city. This included creating all the scene-setting information (the “front matter”) as well as figuring out the location tagging system, along with creating a half-dozen new locations and writing up various sidebars and suchlike.
Today, I sent the draft to my editor (you should never be the only editor of your own work); hopefully, he won’t find anything too wrong and we’ll remain on target for a 25th February release date.
And in other epic news, Tommi Salama is putting the final touches to the city map and I should have it in my sticky hands by the end of the weekend. I can’t wait to show you what he comes up with; Tommi is a supremely talented cartographer who has done all our Ashlar and Gloamhold maps. I’m tremendously jealous of his talent.
It looks like Languard will end up as a 25-page release and top the scales at almost 17,000 words. It’s bigger than I originally planned, and I’m already plotting phase two of Languard’s design.
As you can imagine, I’m excited!
Fantastic! I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve been keeping my players tied up in Dulwich with SKotB to stall for time untill Languard is finished, and I can’t wait to take them back up North and prepare for their first foray into Gloamhold!
Glad I came through in the nick of time!
Great news!!
Languard has suffered a coup by an evil cleric and the party is on their way to scout out the situation.
I’ll be needing all I can get regarding this city.
Blimey. Things seem dire. I hope the PCs are up to the job!
