At the end of last session, we left the party deep in peril as they battled the foul denizens of the ruined Tumbledown manor. (Sadly, however the week break seemed to have refreshed their dice).

On the morning of the 22nd of Harvester in the common year 579 a small band of disparate heroes gathered at Heidmarch Manor in Marner, capital city of Ratik.
At the end of the last session, the party had returned to Ratik after learning from the dragon Vesicwyr the identity of the shadowy figure behind the recent spate of attacks on Ratik: the death knight Monduiz Dephaar.
At the end of last session, we left our heroes in a dire situation. The party were trapped in an area of magical darkness by a be-tentacled beast possessing great strength and powerful magic.

At the end of last session, we left our heroes catching their breath after a particularly vicious fight with a cloaker. After gathering themselves and tending a few minor wounds, the party searched the area. They found nothing of real interest in the chamber except a sinister symbol (identified as the mark on Amon-Pyr an elder demon god of madness and water worshipped by troglodytes) worn on a chain by the cloaker. Oreal mused that perhaps this was the same power worshipped by the troglodytes the party had so recently battled near the village of Roake.
