At the end of the last session, we left the party recovering from Felik’s attempt to entertain the crew with his bongos…
The next few days passed in a blur of work and plotting.
On the 16th day since they were press-ganged, Captain Barnabas declared it was a special occasion as it was the anniversary of his assumption of command over the Wormwood. He demanded a special meal and Fered was directed to slaughter one of the ship’s pigs.
This Fered spectacularly failed to do. The small, inoffensive pig escaped the hapless murderer and hid in the hold. Eventually, Fishguts had to capture and slaughter the pig. Vilimzair immediately dubbed Fered “Fered Pig Bane” in honour of the dwarf’s pig hunting abilities. Later, Vilimzair would lead the crew in a rousing rendition of the Dead Pig Shanty…
The day after, Mr Plugg seemed discouraged and out of sorts. He took it out on the Bards to whom he assigned specific jobs. Watching them carefully, he determined that Kanbrar and Ingrid were shirking and/or bad at their jobs. Later, the two would be punished with a beating, which they both shook off with no real, long-lasting effects.
That night, as Fered tried to lead the crew in a merry (but doomed) dance, Vilimzair detected a strange, despondent atmosphere below decks among the sailors. Not all of it seemed linked to Fered’s performance and it seemed the crew sensed something in the air. Meanwhile, Pluck—eavesdropping on the Captain—discovered Harrigan expected to soon meet the Man’s Promise and to return to Port Peril shortly thereafter with his prize. The Bards immediately began to plot how best to gain advantage from the upcoming events.
The next day, Plugg and Scourge both kept a close eye on the Bards and so it seemed that matters would soon come to a head…
