Skull & Shackles #7: Crabs Are Back on the Menu!

At the end of the last session, we left our heroes after they had triumphantly weathered a terrible storm.

The rest of the day passed uneventfully, and the Bards finally managed to get some sleep. The next day—the eleventh since they were press-ganged started like any other. However, in the afternoon the captain decided he fancied crab for dinner. “Luckily” the ship was near a submerged reef and he despatched the Bards and Sandara Quinn—without a boat— to gather the required crabs.

Gathering the crabs was a doddle—several of the Bards were puissant swimmers and, of course, Vilimzair had once spent a summer on a crab fishing boat—until a trio of reefclaws turned up. Battle ensued and while the Bards were victorious Ilasual ended up badly poisoned by their attacks. Several of the party were also injured, but none as seriously as the brave elf.

Returning victoriously to the Wormwood the Bards were cheered by the crew who much appreciated the variety in their diet. Many of the Bards slept particularly well that night sated by crab meat and the adulation of their fellows.

Day 12 dawned fine and clear. Today, Vilimzair distinguished himself by being the first person to discover a beetle colony on the ship. Bizarrely, none of his companions particularly appreciated the bard’s heroics in eliminating the colony of Deadly Wood Eating Beatles.

Still, no matter, as night fell about the ship, several of the Bards plotted to yet further their own agendas among the crew…
