I’m Going to UK Games Expo!

I used to do a lot of conventions back when I was involved in Living Greyhawk, but I’ve fallen out of the habit over the last few years. Life, work and family kept kicking my plans in the whatsits…

Still, that’s all about to change–this year I’m off to UK Game Expo!

I’m not running a stand for Raging Swan Press or anything like that; rather I’ve got my eye on the 2nd Edition Pathfinder demos as well as a whole slew of seminars. I’m looking forward to wandering the trade hall. Global HQ is based in Torquay and I rarely get the chance to properly shop for gaming goodies. (I’ve also just discovered Q-Workshop sell metal tentacle dice and they must be mine!)

I’m also looking forward to meeting up with some people who I really should have met before, or who I haven’t seen for ages. Richard Green–for example–has worked on Raging Swan Press products for the best part of six years, but we’ve never met (although I think we’ve tried twice before being stymied by my failed attempts to get to Dragonmeet in London).

I fear the relentless shopping and socialising will exhaust me, but I think I’ll struggle through…

How About You?

Are you going to UK Game Expo or have your been before? Got any hints for things/events I should check out? Let me know, in the comments below.

  1. I’d certainly suggest checking out Games on Demand (overseen by Lloyd Gyan) if you get a spare moment, I’m hideously biased since I’ll most likely be running a mix of Fate, PBtA and hopefully some OSR stuff for GoD but it’s very good fun. Basically we run short 2 hour taster sessions that people can drop in on at fairly short notice.

    1. Excellent. Thank you, I will try and swing by. I’ve been checking out the con’s website and I’m more than a little stunned about how much there is to see and do. I not sure I’ll get out of the trade hall without being declared bankrupt!
